Lemon juice and salt, or they have cans of brass polish in the hardware depts.
Ketchup is also a very easy and inexpensive way to polish brass. Not sure what is in it that helps.....acid in the tomatoes and vinegar? Sounds messy but really very easy in the sink. Best of luck,
I tried the ketchup and the lemon juice and salt. The brass I was working on had some serious tarnish on it and although I could see progress using both of those methods it would have taken the rest of my natural life to finish my project that way. I had to forgo the idea of not using messy chemicals. I used bar keepers friend and wow that stuff is amazing. It comes in several forms. A powder that you apply to a wet rag and the spray are the 2 I used and they both worked fantastic.
