Can someone tell me if an old water softener which is still connected but no longer used will effect water pressure in the home?

We had one years ago, in another house. It had stopped working, too, and I never noticed a difference.

I am just wondering if it is restricting waterflow into the house and is it worth the trouble to remove it? Thanks all for your help.

Unless it's clogged, it shouldn't restrict water flow. But, if you find that your water pressure has slowly diminished, then removing it is probably the best idea.

20 years in the business, so YES it will affect the pressure, and the amount depends on the water. The more debris, iron, un dissolved solids the more it will plug up. Why not USE the unit, They work wonders on the water if you never had one. I know.
