I use bleach to kill the mold and vinegar to wipe down the walls.
Vinegar will kill the mold spores. I use vinegar to clean almost everything. Granted, I live alone and that does make it easier.
One of the 2 cleaners that I really like and make it a lot easier. Simple Green for the mold. This comes in different strengths. It's a little more money but you don't need much. Not only does it kill mold and bacteria it kills HIV virus if on bed linen or walls, etc. Also the swine flu. Plus so much more. I also dilute it and give my dog a quick bath, larger her up rinse then followed by an oatmeal shampoo and she is shiny and clean! The other cleaner for shower doors is Scrubbing Bubbles. I use the magic sponge or erasers and it's like new. To dry spotless I use a squeegee I leave with my cleaning products.
Bleach water cleaning will help with staining and start to get all the mold off, the vinegar will kill the spores and also help get rid of the moldy smell. Put the vinegar on after the shower is dry and let it dry on its own to kill as much of the spores as possible. Use it full strength.
I apply bleach soaked cotton strands from the beauty supply to stubborn caulking, it will bleach it back white. A vinegar based cleaner is good for every day!
Hi Laurie. I'm Cindy. I like a product called CLR especially if you have hard water. It does cost a little more but well worth it. Either vinegar or bleach will get rid of the mold. Best wishes.
