We used Rustoleum spray paint on ours! You should be aware though, that it needs to be lined inside to grow any vegetables as the tires will leech into the food. Here is a photo of ones we did with camo colors.
I would go to a home improvement store and ask them about paint that is good on rubber. Make sure that you use the black plastic garden cloth inside the tires to protect the soil from any chemical leaching that may take place from the rubber. I don't know that your organic potatoes would be organic for long with out some protection. Make sure you put drainage holes in the plastic at the bottom.
Hi Deborah, I'm Cindy. I did a bit of research on this because I am also interested in painting a tire. I learned that you should pick a durable, non-toxic outdoor paint. It can be brushed on or rolled on. I will probably use a brush to get into all the nooks and crannies. I hope you find this info helpful. Best wishes.
