I’d like ideas on a teapot/teacup storage/display area.
Help! My dishwasher is gone from the kitchen and I want to turn that space into storage/display for my teapots and teacups. Any ideas? My kitchen cabinets and floor are white. Nothing is ultra-modern just regular. There are a few splashes of color here and there on IKEA metal shelves. I’m not currently working so I’m on a budget. Thanks!

Hmmm. You could install a false back about 6” in and the use the remaining space for your trash. You’d need to cut a hole in your counter top.

I made an additional cabinet where my dishwasher used to be, hate dishwashers. Luckily I had some extra cabinet doors in the garage and some extra pieces of the old cedar they are made from, and I used some old 2x2" lumber to frame it, put a shelf in and add the doors with new hardware. Looks like it was always there.
But for a display area I would light the inside of the cabinet, add a couple shelves, and maybe try to find an old window or two to use as the doors. Or if you have a couple old cabinet doors you could cut out the interior and place glass in them. You might find some and glass at Habitat for Humanity Restore where they go for around $5.
I would paint the inside space white, same color as the rest of the cabinetry. Put a couple shelves inside. You can display the teapots on the shelves and use teacup hooks (no pun intended) to hang the teacups. I also like Sharon's idea of lighting the space. Wishing you all the best.
I hadn't thought about painting the inside white too! I shall combine your and Sharon's ideas. Thanks!
