What concerns you about your first floor laundry room & half bath?
My question was how to find of room on the first floor of a splkt level house to CREATE this room.
The easiest way to create a laundry/1/2 bath combo room where one previously did not exist is to back it on to a room that already has a drain going to the sewer. The most expensive part of this reno will be installing the stack to the toilet. If no toilet exists on the other side of the wall, the plumbing cost could easily be in the double digits, and will have to be completed by a certified plumber. This is not a diy job.
Creating a laundry room only is somewhat easier, as the drain from the washing machine can be routed into the existing drain from a sink. The dryer will need to be installed against an outside wall, so that it can be vented to the exterior.
Is there a finished/unfinished basement or crawl space below the first floor of the home? If the basement is finished, some of it will have to be taken apart, then reconstructed in order to accommodate the new plumbing.
