Painting kitchen cabinets

    you need to take the doors off, and the hardware off. label the doors as you take them off. the doors need to go back to where you took them off.
    you need to clean the doors and frames, get all grease off.
    don't paint when the humidity is higher, the paint won't dry correctly.

    you need to prime the doors and the cabinet frames. a stain blocking primer is what i prefer, if you do a darker color paint -tint the primer to match the paint. it may save you from doing an extra coat of paint.

    have a damp cloth at hand to catch any paint drips. now, there are paints formulated for the kitchen. i'd stick to one of those. chalk paint, milk paint..may not be readily removable- unless you have a thing for sanding marathons. the other thing, if you use the right products, unless you like supper shiny cabinet doors, you really shouldn't need polyurethane on the cabinets.
