How to stabililse a garden gate on one side

I would like to erect a garden gate but only have the right to attach it to my house and not my neighbour's who is reluctant to allow me to do this. Is there any way of supporting and closing the gate on one side only?

    You need to put in a post on your property on the neighbors side.

    Put a small wheel on the side you want to support. This will also help to carry the weight of the gate.
