Counter top painting.
I am a senior with limited funds and since I cannot afford to change my kitchen countertops, what would be the best way to prep my surfaces. I know degrease it for sure but sanding too? I want it to last and am afraid that it will come undone around the kitchen sink. Already bought a kit but still not sure to use it. Sealer will play a very important role in this job!

Hi Sue they sell countertop painting kits (Rustoleum is one of the brands that makes them) that I've heard really good things about. They come with clear instructions etc. As for prep after a full cleaning I would lightly hand sand with fine grit sand paper and then clean it again before proceeding with the paint.
What kit did you buy? What part of the instructions are unclear? I bet they have tutorials on You Tube, let us know which one you purchased and we can help you.
