I have never heard of anything, usually if the scratch is not causing peeling of the rest of the Teflon, it should still be nonstick. If there is any peeling, you need to get rid of it so it doesn't come off anymore while you cook, that is not healthy.

Carolyn, only use a soft sponge to clean Teflon. Once the scratch is made, usually by a metal spatula or a fork, I don’t believe it can be mended, but you can continue to use the pan until you get a replacement. A Teflon pan is only as good as the thickness of the Teflon and the process of bonding it to the pan. ☺️

Just throw it in the trash, they are not that expensive. I have had mine for years. I just don’t ever scrape the bottom. I use rubber spatula’s if I need to scrape anything in the pan.
