How to get rid of fairy rings fungus in lawn?

Patches of grass die out, and what grows back is a finer, different color grass, so lawn looks patchy at best. The patches turn brown and look awful until new grass comes in.

    From what I gathered there is no natural control. Some people use fertilizer rich in nitrogen to control it. Mushrooms can be removed by mowing or raking. Most fungicides are NOT effective.

    Try reducing the amount of water in your lawn. Mushrooms need more water than does grass. You could also overseed with a more drought tolerant grass which will allow you to use less water thus keeping your lawn area dryer.
