I have a mature orange tree. It's fruit is not very sweet and I'm ready to cut it down. However , I'd like to give it one more year.

If you use round up, you will have to make sure that you don't get the roundup on anything but the weed leaves. I would try to get one that has the choice between foam and regular spray. Use the foam, but not enough to drip too badly.

Yes, you can. As long as the bark is hardened off the Roundup won't hurt it. Try to avoid getting Roundup on the leaves although they won't absorb much anyway because of their waxy coating.

  • My intense dislike of round up is immeasurable. Monsanto is paying off out of court settlements . . . Bad for the environment, wildlife and people. Vinegar will achieve the same result, yet be environmentally friendly. So will boiling water or epsom salt and boiling water.

Sometimes more than one spray is needed . Round-up kills anything green , foliage , grass, weeds , etc . Even if you get it on the soles of your boots and walk on the lawn , you'll see dead spots . Make sure you don't spray low branches , if there are any . Must dry on foliage , so don't spray before rain . Wear gloves , mix exactly as instructed , more isn't any better , follow directions "to the T " . Avoid hitting the bark w/ spray .
