Maybe book shelves n storage bin drawers !?
Hi Teacup,
What is in your room and how big is it?
Does ir have a window? What new purpose do you want for it and what is it usef for now? Please give more info so we can help you.
It looks like you have a lot of stuff stored in there. The first thing to do is to go through everything with a fresh eye and ask yourself if it is truly something you need to keep. Chances are if you haven’t looked at it in 6-12 months you don’t need it anymore. As you sort categorize things into different piles. You will have to decide exactly what categories based on what is in all the bins and boxes. One idea would be used often, rarely and never (as in momentos or paperwork that must be kept).
You will want to decide on what kind of storage bins you will need. It doesn’t really matter as long as they are all the same. Using multiple different types of bins makes things look cluttered. If you dont want to spend the money on new bins you could “upcycle“ the ones you have so they at least all look similar. That will clean up the lines of your room. There are lots of great ideas on Hometalk.
One final suggestion is this. It looks like you have a very low ceiling in your room. Removing the different items from the wall around the storage boxes will make the space feel more open. Perhaps add a cork board on one wall to pin up the things that you’d like to keep.
Hope this helps! Have a great day!
Decide what you are using the room for, play room, home office, guest room ? Have only those items in the room, redistribute the remaining & give stuff away. Best of luck !
Get all the clutter and stuff out . Repaint. Look at it empty . Reimagine storage do you want open shelves ? Do you want things behind doors? If you have access to an ikea go look and buy. Have themhelp you but all stores have basic shelving or bookcases that can be reconfigured and dressed up or down .
If you can build do so . If there are kids ,have kids cubbies below shelving where they can access and clean up . Attach shelving to those cubby units secure all to your walls .
Buy some cheap frames for kids art white or black whatever you like ! Love kids art .
You cant see the possibilities for the stuff .
Good luck , enjoy and make the most of what you have ! Sell the stuff that no longer serves you to buy New !
