I leave my flowers, which have dried on the bush until spring. It breaks the winter monotony. They make fertilizers for each color Hydrangea bushes for their differing soil needs. It kind of makes it easier to make sure you get what the bush you have needs. Most every garden center carries the different ones, just go with a brand you trust. I hope this helps you, Dorpat!
