Attached is a current picture of what we have. We have a lovely home and pool, but this is an eyesore. How can we fix up the air conditioning area and pool pump?
Hello, I need some ideas to cover up our pool pump and A/C unit?
What is the best way to cover air conditioning units? My husband found some wrought iron and we were considering planting something that might help cover it up. The only issue is if we are making the problem worse by using the wrought iron?

Seeing you have a pool right there. Some ribbon arbor vitae, or sky rocket junipers...something on that line anyway.
You can add a lattice wrap by the air conditioner, and build a pretty garden shed around the pool equipment.
The lattice wrap is good but u will have a heat issue with a shed unless u vent it. Pool equipment produces heat Also it will be humid so don’t use OSB. And the pool chemicals in an enclosed area will greatly increase rust of garden tools.
You can paint the wrought iron a bright happy color like your umbrella or cushions, then hang some railing planters with flowers and trailing plants.
I love something like this
Have your gardener surround them with large pieces of slate standing upright. Creates a sound barrier and is very stately, just takes some digging.
Is that a wrought iron fence/railing there? What if you wove the material of your choice in and out of the bars? My first thought is copper flashing, but you could get sheets of galvanized metal, willow sticks, whatever... Almost instant barrier. Then you could get some plant hooks to hang pots of bright flowers or coleus and potato vine to give it some interest.
You have to be careful that you give the equipment room to breath the A/C unit gives off hot are around the sides and needs ambient air to function properly As does the pool equipment you can use lattice or reed fencing supported by posts that would hide the equipment and not interfere with its function
I would make wooden steps that rest against the brick wall. You could place plants on the step or place your coolers on steps and paint them and turn them into planters. Just a thought!
