OK--out on a limb with this suggestion. I had a stain of bbq sauce on my carpet, actually an expensive area rug. I also had a stain--black and what the heck is this???--stain on my hallway runner which was a light beige. Looking at it one day after using a makeup remover towelette I said, "Hey! If it takes off all of this makeup, maybe----?" Well, guess what? No more bbq sauce on my area rug and the black something stain on runner is gone. So are all the other drops of stains on my carpet--coffee in the AM drips, don't eat in the living room drips (caught ya! :~( Worth a shot.
I still use an equal part paste of peroxide, baking soda. And blue Dawn dish washing detergent. Mix well and rub in to the stain and let sit for a few minutes. Then apply paste one more time and wash as usual. Or, rinse just because he spot. Would like to know if this works for you.
That was suppose to say. Just rinse the stained spot. This does not fade any fabric ,I have worked with.

If it isn't white & you can't bleach out stain, applique a design over stain & across the runner to cover. You can make design look intentional & as if runner came that way. No one but you will know the truth.
Can't sew ?? Use heavy duty extra hold iron on fusing for your design.
Someone on this site game me the baking soda peroxide for my quarts countertop that a tomatoe stained and also Alovera plant. Alovera really stains and didn't know this. You make the paste and cover it with seran wrap and leave it a day or so and it wipes off so easy. Don't see why this wouldn't work on your cloth. Evidently peroxide is great cleaning product. I cut my leg really bad and it bled into my show and someone told me to use the peroxide on it and then wash it. Works for this as well. It was a tennis shoe.
If your runner is color fast or white, I would make a pretty strong mixture of bleach in water and immerse the cloth in it. Watch it and the minute the stain is gone, yank it out and wash as usual.
