I have a wooden toddler bed?
I would love to repurpose it into a bench. The pics I have seen online show a different one than I have. Mine has a head board and 2 short side rails slatted and the foot board is way shorter than the head..
I have been staring at it for weeks.. the pics of what i see do not thrill me.
HELP.. and I dont make a lot of cash at present.. I work a short week cause I cannot bear to leave my for babies for long..I have a significant other and he makes $$ but I hate to ask him for things like this.. he is an engineer...

Hi Pamela, I've included a link to some info about what you want to do.....hopefully it is different that what you've already seen. Since your husband is an engineer maybe he can help you with figuring how to best use the wood to create a bench. Do you have the tools to do such a project? Someone who works with wood all the time might be able to "see" what needs to be done. Good Luck and it's great that you want to spend as much time as possible with your babies!

pamela, it really isn't a majorly hard project, envision what you think it would look like with the parts you have, head board as the back, foot board as the bottom of the front, framing in between them with boards making the seat, and you could attach the cute little sides to the sides like an armrest aww it is so cute isn't it lol. the framing is basically a square or rectangle depending on how long you make it from front to back and it gets attached to the head and foot boards , giving you a lip to lay your seat boards on, you can make them go from front to back or from side to side. lowes or home depot or like stores will cut all of your boards for you and tell you what else you might need and also answer any questions too. hope this helps xx
Hiya Pam. I have 2 large dogs and bought one of these at a thrift store. I cut off the 2 slatted rails, added a 4" back, sanded, painted. Now my boys have their own doggie bed.
The footboard and ladders (as arms) would make a cute bench for the "little ones", and the headboard would make an adult size bench, and they would match!!!
