You must hire professionals to handle these jobs. If you live in a metro area one company might do both jobs. Each situation is serious and you can't do it yourself. Very hazardous to your health, deadly if exposed in the long run.
Suellen is correct. Don’t touch asbestos. Why do you think you have asbestos? It was commonly used before 1980 but newer construction doesn’t contain it. Not all sheet rock contains asbestos but you should suspect older material. Do a Google search for “asbestos testing” in your area to confirm whether or not you have it then you can start to remove the mold.
You can't diy mold removal and asbestos is nothing to experiment with either. You need professionals for those jobs.
Actually you can diy mold we have many different species. Asbestos is in the sheet rock and mud. We have to gear up special masks and stuff
Not only is it “special masks and stuff” there may be special permits depending on your area, removal of all of the dust and fibres released in the process, and proper containment and disposal. Asbestos can’t just go in your regular trash pickup. If you are determined to do this yourself I would at least get an asbestos abatement company in your area to give you an estimate and discuss some of the regulations and hazards. Asbestos is dangerous to your whole family. I hope all goes well for your safety.
