Looks like some weevils to me..... https://homeguides.sfgate.com/weevils-fruit-trees-57037.html when they talk about putting sticky stuff on the trunk, this is Tanglefoot you can get it at hardware store like True Value, and use a chopstick or old spatula to apply, so they can't climb up the tree.
Also many organic gardeners us Neem Oil, you might try this also.... https://www.discoverneem.com/neem-oil-insecticide.html

ummm, no. They're Leaf footed bugs - not good. They suck the juices from fruit and leaves. These are not your garden's friend.

I use Sevin spray to kill them, but Sevin spray is also tough on your plants. I have netting around my garden box (to block some of the brutal TX summer sun). I try to shoo them off my plants and onto the netting and spray the there. The bugs are pretty reluctant to fly too far away, so this usually works pretty well. You may have to be vigilant for a few days to get them to realize your garden is not their home. :)
I have had no insects of my plants this year. I planted tomatoes with basil, parsley, rosemary and onions (that were going bad in my kitchen) Not sure what repelled the insects but the results have been great.
I use a solution of water and dish soap. It kills the bugs and is safe for you to use on edible plants.
