Without a picture kinda hard to advice. But you can add a skylight, put in a new larger window or sliding door.
Paint the walls a light color in a higher shine paint like satin or semi-gloss. Add mirrors opposite the windows you do have to increase reflectiviity.
I even painted my ceiling a bright arctic white in a satin finish and it made a world of difference in the room brightness.
Add more lamps. Change your bulbs to LED from incandescent, they are brighter.
