Roller for smooth surface
Use a small roller
Hi Teresa, Use Rust-Oleum 2X Paint with Primer that can be used on everything. Tape off the hinges, door handles, window, etc., then give it a light spray of color, let dry, lightly spray again if the first coat is not the exact color you want. Repeat as necessary being sure to let it dry completely between coats. Brushes and rollers some times makes streaks but light sprayings don't.
I'm looking at this project right now and will be using a paint sprayer. We had hired painters to paint our house in 2013 and for the most part they did a good job. However, I was not happy that they did not remove the doors for painting. The paint did not last as long as it should and I did not like the result. When I paint this time, I plan to remove the doors and make other needed repairs to the door frame as well.
