How can I clean old house tiles?
I have veey old Tiles. 70 years old in my grandparents home in Puerto Rico how can i clean them. I have try everything but sanding them. Can't remove then I'm renting the house. Syl4282@gmail.com

I wouldn't recommend sanding them. We have some tiles about the same age in our house and I believe they contain asbestos, which isn't an issue, until you begin breaking them apart or sanding them down. Painting is an option or covering them with vinyl tile would also work. Good luck!
Look into useing a floor stripper to get the very old build up of wax and any dirt that might have come in contact before the wax dried completely.
and if that doesn’t work I agree with the others about either painting or laying down new tiles.
Please don’t disrupt the tiles by sanding or chipping or trying to remove because of the asbestos that they contain.
You can rent a floor buffer and use that to clean them with the scrubbing brush that comes with it.

Please "DON'T" sand them they are most like full of asbestos !
