How do I stop my toilet from running on and off again?
All through the day, I hear the sound of water running as if I'd just flushed the toilet. It happens consistently and it is very disturbing. Sometimes I may jiggle the handle until it stops, but eventually the cycle starts again. What can I do?

When the flapper in the toilet tank is down make sure there are at least three to four links of chain loose. If the flapper is old you can replace it. Also make sure the handle moves freely and doen't bind. Easy!
My solution was to hire a plumber to replace the innards of my tank. It was $75 well spent. Figure I will be here another 10 years, so it was $7.50 a year, change found while cleaning the car every few months.
