One of the best things I have seen was on one of those Fix it up shows. They used scrubbing bubbles and a stiff brush.
It really depends on what the spot is. Different stains and different surfaces require different treatments. You can try a basic baking soda/water paste and a brush. Do not use any acid (like vinegar) as this can damage the brick. If you provide additional information and maybe a photo I’ll be happy to offer additional options
