Brick? Or concrete? Photo would help, or describe the room fully. Like is there a window, and where, how big? All the walls, or just one? What color are they? What kind of floor? Concrete you can paint, as you can brick, but brick you might want to whitewash? Ask at Home Depot, or Lowe’s what to use to hang things on walls. There are special screws, and drill bits.
You could consider putting ceramic tiles over the dining room walls. If you go to your local big box store there are glass or ceramic tiles in various sizes and colors for you to choose from. You need to do this very evenly. Practice somewhere where you can get your groove on. You could also put tin type tile squares in here for a very moderate price. Buy 1 or 2 of each. Take home and get your family’s take on the project. Maybe just paint it. Get a paint sample while you are at the store. There is also oops paint that was returned. Just test these ideas out. Paint on a piece of paper and tape it on the wall. Check with dept mgr for other ideas!! 😉
