Finish did not adhere properly when finished.
How do I fix this porch?
My daughter's boyfriend decided to help me with fixing my front porch. He used northern Canadian Birch sealed with Protective & Marine Coatings from Sherwin Williams. The finish did not adhere properly to the flooring (flooring had a factory finish). So now where it was exposed to the elements it is cracking and peeling. There is some swelling and cupping on the edges of the flooring. Any suggestions??

Sand over it with a palm sander using 100 grit sandpaper making sure you get up next to the post and any edges and sand the edges that are swollen real good then put 2 or 3 coats of polyurethane on it and that should do it.
