Your least expensive option might be a fan! Outdoor fans are available on stands.
Your best option would be an awning. Second choice would be a large pergola from which to hang plants.

I’ve lived in GA so have full sympathy! Get a mister. Home Depot sells one that sits on the ground, basically a 5 gal bucket and a fan but it works. Turn that on for a bit and enjoy your oasis. If you add a canopy or umbrella be sure to let them dry to prevent mold. Add some hanging plants or tall floor plants - they will love being misted and so will you.
Shade: from plants or trees. Misters
Check out wind sails (available on Amazon). They come in a number of shapes and sizes and are great looking. Not too hard to put up either. Used them in 2 different homes and really did the job.
From a design standpoint, I agree with the suggestion for a pergola. Plant wisteria, jasmine or clematis paniculata to grow up the sides and over the top and you will have shade and cooler temps. It will also increase your home value because of the attractiveness. Then plant a shade tree if you need more. Then grab a glass of wine or iced tea and a good book and enjoy!

I'm personally a fan of the sail shade cloth and a mister stand. Home Depot usually has the misters very inexpensively and a good sail shade can be purchased online for a very reasonable price. Especially when comparing to the price of a pergola. Don't get me wrong.... I really love pergolas but a quick solution is the sail.
you can order sun shade material direct from manufacturer in a variety of colors and specify the number of grommets. Drive a pole into the ground and attach. This is the cheapest way to go. Covers more than a sun sail for less money. I used them for years on my patio.
