Want to install the easiest brand.

  • They all install the same way. I prefer "comfort height" toilets as I am tall and have had several back surgeries. Purchased my last toilet from a plumbing supply house rather than your typical home improvement center. Get help, toilets are heavy! I used to be able to do by myself, but no more, so I hired a high school kid for an hour just to help me move the old and seat the new.

Take measurements from floor to top of seat that will tell you if the one you have is chair height or regular lower toilet. Follow direction in the box it should have everything you need to install. Check your floor to be sure it is sound, sometimes a leaking toilet will rot the floor. While I haven't installed the new straight skirted style, a lot of the reviews mentioned they are more difficult to put in. You can't see the bolt holes so you're kinda working blind.

Check out comparative reviews at www.consumerreports.com or at Terry Love's plumbing website.

You'll find honest owner's reviews of various brands by typing it into a web search.
