How do I paint my bathroom cabinets?
I am painting my bathroom cabinets first as a trial run before I paint the kitchen cabinets. I really want them to turn out OK. I have decided not to sand or prime and have reaseached milk and chalk paint that they say will do the job nicely.
I am wondering if anybody has actually done this project without sanding and priming? What paint did you choose? How difficult was the job? And what was the result?

Hi Sally. I'm Cindy. Just today I did some research about a new paint product on the market. It's called Beyond Paint. To use this paint, begin with a clean surface. Then start painting. It eliminates the need to sand, prime, or seal. It does cost a little more than the average paint, but it costs a lot less than even a can of primer. I want to paint our kitchen cabinets and this is the paint I will be using. Best of luck to you Sally.

I used a kit purchased at home depot called transformations. It was well worth it. Had every supply and dvd for instructions incase you need. It was easy to use ..even my kids helped. Finished in a weekend.. hardest part was finding new cabinet hardware to fit my cabinet as they were so old. I highly reccomend..i too am going to tackle the kitchen next thanks to this kit..the results are amazing.
Take a cabinet door and photo of existing kitchen or bath to the paint department of your home improvement store and ask for their advice. They have the newest paints/stains and application tools for a professional job. And may have ideas you haven't considered!
I used a kit by Rustoleum, Cabinet Transformations and it made cabinet painting easy. It’s stull holding up. You can see what I did here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2015/09/kitchen-cabinets-black.html?m=1
Hi Becky, thanks so much for your suggestion. There are so many products out there it is mind-boggling. I did end up ordering some Annie Sloan chalk paint on Amazon and am now awaiting it's arrival. We'll see what happens.

Sally: this paint is easy-peasy (no prep necessary) ...it's pricey... but a little goes a long way. (a way to save $ --- is to buy good brushes elsewhere)
