What do I do with knotty pine?
I have lived in my house over 30 yrs... hate the knotty pine... every year I say it will be popular again, NOPE
should I paint over ... remove... ? please help my DIY family...

Painting is definitely an option, just make sure to rough up the finish with sandpaper first so the paint will adhere. Removing it would be another good option. You can sell the wood and people would pay a decent price for it.
