Use a piece of furniture leg or buy a fancy stair railing for the body and attach two fan blades to it with screws. Paint your favorite colors.

Sounds neat! No clue how, but have you tried Google? If you can't find instructions, just look for pictures of things like garden art, jewelery, live dragonflies. Use your imagination to come up w/ the body parts from found items you may already have. Or stroll the hardware & craft stores for ideas of things that have the shapes you need. Sewing section a possibility for trims, buttons,etc. If it was me, I would get the puvtures, & simply gather up a pile of "stuff" from my stash that said to me, "I would make a great dragonfly!" And start experimenting:)
Thanks for the idea. I have several old sequined & embroidered fans from Japan that I have always wanted to display in some way besides hanging on the wall. I think dragonflies are just what I need:)
