Purchase Japanese beetle traps from your home improvement store. Place them far away from your rosebushes and lilac. Hopefully the Beatles will be attracted to a higher degree to the beetle traps then your bushes. If I had my others, I place the beetle traps in my neighbors yard. LOL just kidding.
Hi Linda,
The best way to get rid of japanese beetles is to do it by hand. :( Take a bucket of soapy water outside and pick them off your plants and drop them into the bucket. There are japanese beetle traps that you can buy but we have found that the hand picking method works best. Of course, there are insecticides that you can use. We have grandchildren that play in our yard so we try to stay away for insecticides. Here's and article that should help you. Wishing you the best. -Linda
