I have self-adhesive tiles on top of linoleum...how can I remove them without damaging the linoleum?

Slowly lift a corner of each tile and try to "pop" off with a hand scrape. Maybe heat with a hair dryer to help, I wouldn't use a heat gun since you are trying to save the flooring below.
You may have to use a mild adhesive remover or oil.
Try Goof Off to get rid of the adhesive.

I think it's too late. Will probably tear or delaminate the bottom tile.
