Depends on what type of molds you want to make. Plaster of paris is used for some moldings.
You can get mold making material at JoAnns. I just saw it & was amazed. Not sure what it's called, but real cool idea!
Alumilite is a liquid rubber molding material. Smooth-On Silicone Mold Making, Liquid Rubber OOMOO 30, both of which are available on Amazon
Sculpey makes a bake and bend clay that you can probably buy at Joanns. I have seen people make long strings of this and knitted with it.
