How to make a blanket ladder?
I love all the blanket ladders I see in peoples homes on the web. Is there a way to make one that you can actually use and not just for looks.
You can make a ladder out of 2 x 2s , If it was mine I would cut the 2x2s down to about 6ft. long, then cut 2x2s for the cross steps what ever size it would take to hold your quilts probably about 18 to 20 inches.. Then Screw them to the uprights about 10 Inches apart. Start with the top step about 2 inches from the top and go down from there. Sand it all and leave it natural or stain it and seal it with Polyurethane .
Lean it against the wall and hang the quilts from the steps behind the ladder.
3 -- 2x2s by 8 foot long should do the project.
so I would be able to take off the quilts with out the ladder moving
Try buying a 4 foot ladder paint it stencil leave it closed hang towels then lean on the wall
Are you wanting to be able to use the ladder as a ladder but also hang your blankets from it? I love the look of having it as just a hanger for pretty blankets as in this one:
I think your best be would be to anchor the ladder to the wall. I'm thinking something like I found at HD (it also comes in black):
