What I have seen done for each individual is to reserve an area of the house where people entering can readily see their accomplishments and what they have achieved. It gives each family member recognition they deserve.
A family friend who's husband served in Vietnam, has just such a display in their house, beautifully done with metals, plaques, and honors.
,If I had a lot of trophies all over my house, I'd ask hubby and kids to choose their 3 most favorite and display them all together in a prominent place. The rest, I'd build a high shelf around their bedrooms and put the rest of the trophies on it.
Perhaps you could create one trophy wall by gathering ALL the trophies, ribbons, etc. to see the magnitude of all of them together. Decide if it is really feasible to display all of them. Whatever that decision is, you could then build a unique piece to house them in one structure built out of 1'x4' wood. Measure the largest trophies and make the wood attached to fit around the pieces. I'd draw this out on a sheet of paper first so you can calculate the measurements needed. It could be a great family project.
Hi,
I would build a shadow box for the medals, leaving room for more medals, if you have room in your house for a shelf I would use museum putty & put the putty on the bottom of the trophies on the shelf,. I have done this to my many cups & saucers & salt & pepper shakers, some from the thirties & I have Waterford Crystal and Belleek from Ireland , all are displayed.
Hope this helps
