What materials can I use on the ceiling in living and dining rooms?

I still have the popcorn ceiling in my living and dining rooms. I want to cover it with wood or something so I don't have to scape it. We have pine on the walls and pine beams on the ceiling. Any suggestions?

Go to a hardware store and purchase a cheap pump bottle that's used in the garden put water in it warm water and spray the ceiling and small sections take a wide scraper and it should come off after a couple of minutes fairly easy from what I have seen
