Hi Julia, Try unscrewing it!
Try to pull it out with a needle-nosed plyers.
I'm guessing you have a pop up stopper. If so, hold the body with one hand and unscrew with the other (counter-clockwise).
If you can't get a good grip, use a rap or pliers or one of those rubber pieces for opening jars.
Tub drain stoppers usually unscrew, do just that, unscrewing it to the left with your hands.
