How to get birds to leave a tree?
I have a lovely tree that is included in our future outdoor space. But worried birds (which I do like) will poop on guest. Is there something I could put in the tree or around so birds won't hang out?

Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Birds don't usually hang around if people are close to the tree. However, when no one is around any furniture you put under it will be fair game unless you cover them. I would use throw type covers that will be easy to whisk away when you and guests are using the space.
Birds tend to avoid "flash tape" (sold at garden centers). They also avoid drifts of tall white flowers, which will move with the slightest breeze.
My grandmother used to hand aluminum pie pans in the trees to chase away birds. Just poke a hole in rim and tie to a branch with a string. The flashing (reflective sunlight) deters them.
Get some of those small mirrors from a hobby store, assorted sizes from half dollar size to drinkiyglass size. Glue varying lengths of fishing line in between 2 mirrors. Hang from tree, here and there. It will frighten the birds and you’ll have an enchanting tree!
