How to paint a small floor area?
I wanted to know if anyone here ever used Sico Furniture and Cabinet paint to paint a floor. The area I wanted to paint is about 3 feet x 5 feet. It is at my back door entrance. By the time I put down the floor mat only a small area shows. The bare floor isn't even walked on. Thanks so much.

Hi Gan, No, only Floor Paint!
Because floor paint is made for the wear and tear it has to endure. I suppose you could use the Sico paint and try to put a protective coat on it, but you may not get a long term result from it. Good luck.
Hello again,
Well the truth is I don't paint internal floors. I assumed the floor was concrete (I would use Floor Tiles - Ceramic or Quarry Tiles or Vinyl floor covering (Offcut). If the floor is timber, then you could use a wood stain or combined coloured varnish, or paint with Garden shades ( pretty good selection of attractive colours) Never used furniture paint on a floor, so I can't advise you do it, but what's the worst that can happen? I should imagine it needs primer then undercoat then one or two top coats! Do be sure the mat has a rubber base to avoid slipping.........Best of luck.....
What is the floor surface in the area you want to paint? Is it linoleum or vinyl flooring, concrete, ceramic tile, stone? It makes a difference as to the type of prep of the area, the type of primer and the type of paint. A floor mat might not offer that much help , as they tend to move around. We are here to help, but need to know what it is you want to paint.
I just checked out the specs on Sico Furniture and Cabinet Paint on their official site. It says it is not formulated for floors. Almost everything else, but not floors. If you were to use it in an entryway and someone slipped and fell you are on your own. If it peels, don't look to Sico to replace it. It sounds like it could be a slick product, because they describe the finish as a "melamine" finish. The choice to use it is up to you. Best wishes.
