Need feminine bedroom ideas? Help!
I’m single, so I don’t have to share my bedroom with anyone.
i want my bedroom to look much more feminine. Please give me ideas. I will be painting the room Classic Taupe with Behr paint.
Also, when I do paint, do I leave the closet doors and the built in drawers alone or do I paint them? FYI... the window air conditioner will be coming out.

Hi Connie, as far as painting the closet doors and drawers... it's really a matter of taste whether you paint them or not. If it's a large room, I might recommend not painting them to break up the taupe a bit. But if it's a smaller room, sometimes painting things like that can make it feel larger and give it a more cohesive look. And for adding feminine touches... you could add some metallic, reflective surfaces to give it a glam sort of vibe, or you could use color to add a feminine feel. Maybe different shades pink or purple. Good luck!
Hi there.
In my opinion I would paint the closet doors and built-in drawers to give more "light" and this will brighten up te room. Making a room more feminine all depends on the color schemes and accessories you add, and this also is what you like. Use items that define your personality - colors, scatter rugs, plants, etc.
Happy decorating
Taupe walls with white trim to make room look bigger! Paint doors and built ins taupe also! Then get a stencil and paint a frilly white lace on doors and front of built ins! Use white lace on bed pillows throws etc!
I would paint all the trim around windows, baseboards and closet doors bright white in a semi gloss. I do not think they should be the same color as the walls. The drawers can stay as they are because they go with the other wood furniture. I love the bed and dresser!
Although I am married my husband and I do not share a bedroom. My bedroom which has a sort of annex, is painted pink. I have a brass double bed and what I consider the quintessence of femininity. . . . a corona. You have a great bed and a very beautiful quilt. I would not paint the walls taupe or in that family, that is a generic background color not particularly denoting femininity. I would go for a pink, lavender, pale blue, pale green etc. Plates are a wonderful decoration, but use many more and mix them up design wise. I would paint or skirt the little night table. I am not a fan of carpeting but you probably have no choice in that. also I am not a fan of valances they shorten windows IMHO. I would definitely include the doors and woodwork in the paint scheme. It will make the room look larger. Also although I had a ton of them (had a big linen sale recently) I am not a fan of bureau scarves or doilies (just now. . . may change). . . although my husband still uses one. I'm not sure how the blue section fits in your room, but thanks for posting so many pictures it makes advice giving much easier. Your bed looks terrific!
(I love that chenille patchwork bedspread!) you have lots of wall space that can be great with a miscellaneous collection of things you love. It's best done on only one wall, though, or the whole room starts to look cluttered. Since your closet doors are the modern plain wood type, I think I'd like to see them painted. I'd suggest using white paint for trim, but possible taupe for the closet doors. You could have fun with stencils in white, a lace type, over the taupe paint. They could be an all-over pattern, or scattered miscellaneous lacey designs, or even one large Mandala style in the center, half on each door.
Maybe a boarder a pretty net over the bed
