I agree with the beer, but it is easier to put it in jar lids or shallow bowls and sink them a little to make them close to ground level. They crawl in to drink it and drown. You can use stale or fresh beer. If you have a lot of grubs, use a few in different places to get good coverage of the area and you will attract more of them than in just one place. They also don't like food grade diatomaceous earth, so spread some around the plants they are getting to.

Beneficial nematodes. You can get them online from garden sites.
I agree with the Milky spore treatment. It is non toxic to pets and humans but the fungus kills grubs. It is expensive but an application can last several years.
