1 1/2 to 2 inch nails put in with a compressor and nail gun
One advantage is no drying time but it also allows for removing to realign or to put up a new material later or even paint after filling the tiny nail holes. If you have an air compressor and nail gun (or can borrow one) it might even be a little cheaper. It is definitely much faster and less messy. Even if you use liquid nails you may have to use small nails to hold it in place while the adhesive dries.
Once the shiplap is cut to size putting it up is very fast. Almost instant gratification! LOL
Thanks Suzanne! The ship lap is pre-painted so that's why I'm kinda stuck.
I prefer knowing that it is going to stay up with screws and nails, but that is just me.
We used our Ryobi Brad Nailer and it worked great. I would hesitate against liquid nails only because if this is a trend, it's going to be a huge mess down the road to do major drywall repair over filling small nail holes. When we shiplapped our office, we left the nail holes exposed and it gave a more rustic look.

Nails or nail gun. Less damage to repair if you need to remove or your taste changes.
Thank you for all your advice everyone! I do appreciate it!! Have a great weekend!
