It really is fairly easy to remove the popcorn from your ceilings. You don't need much for tools-a water spray bottle and a scraper, a ladder, newspaper or plastic on the floor, and some time. I was amazed at how fast the job went when I made the decision to rid my home of popcorn ceilings! https://www.familyhandyman.com/drywall/ceiling-texture/how-to-remove-a-popcorn-ceiling/view-all/
To me covering the popcorn up is more difficult than just getting busy and removing it once and for all! Messy, but very rewarding.

The other way is to just drywall over the ceilings with 1/4" drywall.
