Paint IS easiest and cheapest way! (Wallpaper? ...but you'll hate yourself when you want to take it off.)
I stenciled a wall and am quite happy with it. (see pic)
HAVE FUN!
Let’s see, you want it to pop but you don’t want to do any work or spend any money. Lots of luck with that.
no paste removeable wallpaper, stick it up and removal is easy
Stencils don't have to be pricey. I once used the outline made by the Burger King paper crowns to create a stencil for a Bohemian paint treatment. One DIYer used the circles of a laundry basket as a stencil to polka-dot a room. Hobby Lobby sells stencils, as does Walmart. You can also use stickers on walls. Make them by cutting shapes such as triangles or dots or stars, etc. from Contact paper.
Hi, you could stencil something on it, or hang a decorative wall decor

I stained some wood lath and attached it to a wall for a really inexpensive but cool look. You can see what I did here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2017/11/hall-bathroom-revisited.html
Try textured paint! (I have photos in my posts on Hometalk). The finish looks like high end stucco and can be applied with a paint brush. Lowes sells a really great textured paint in several great colors!
Hang a quilt or colorful rug.
I did this fun treatment to the front entry in our former house. No painting, very simple to install and a for sure can make a great impact for an accent wall! :)
