Run a few rows of tile in bright colors about a foot from the top and same from the bottom. There are some amazing adhesives out there like e6000 or construction adhesive that you can use. Or make a design using two colors to match you bath tapering upward like a pyramid or a diamond. A 5 minute option is to put an expanding shower rod (the kind you twist to make tighter) and ad a bright shower curtain along the length of the tub like you have in the front to give you instant color. There are graphics, forests, animals, you name it in curtains.

We went with Bath Fitters to put a solid surface right over our old bath tub. They provided for a plumber to come out and replace all the plumbing involved. There are no seams at all where one wall ends and the next begins. So no nooks or crannies for moisture to gather. The cost was very affordable and I highly recommend them. I hope this info helps you and, at least, provides an option for you. Wishing you all the best.

I used vinyl contact paper to cover the walls of up to a short distance down from the top then added a peel & stick border. It's been up for over 5 yrs & still holding. There are all kinds of colors & designs available on Amazon & sometimes some on clearance for dirt cheap. Contact paper is no longer mere wood grained designs & colors.

Good luck in updating your surround. I plan to do again very soon.
