Is there a way to increase suction on a 1 HP dust collector?
Bought a Craftex 1053 1 HP dust collector and want to increase suction. Will a pleated filter help? I thought it would have more suction. What kind of equipment can I get to test suction?

1 HP is not very strong, keep filters clean. That helps the most. The easiest equipment to test suction is the palm of your hand.
Making sure there are no holes in the filter or tearsnin the rubber gaskets. Keep gaskets free of dust and debris.
Be sure to empty dust after use and wash the dust cup and dry it before reuse also check the little sponge they need rinsing as well
Make sure the motor and all moving parts are clean. Clean it after each use. Dirt is a motor's worst enemy. And air flow is not obstructed.
