Ceremic tile works great.

What's the wall made of, what's broken?
Sherrie what is wrong with it? Is there a hole, does it just need to be spackled and repainted or what?
Hi Sherrie, depending upon the damage you may be able simply apply drywall sparkle to texture t to repair. If there's too much damage for that to be an option perhaps you'll need to tear out the a aged area and install new Sheetrock, apply texture, etc. I would suggest insuring there is no water damage to the framed area behind the current drywall.
Depending on the amount of damage the drywall would need to removed and replaced. If it's not soft, bulging, peeling, and only water stained you can prime and paint.
