How do I paint carpeting stained from lacquered furniture?

We have beige carpeting in one of our bedrooms and a lacquered end table got wet from water damage and stained the carpet. No carpet cleaner or scrubbing will remove the stain. Thinking about fabric paint but carpet match is of concern and don't know what kind of paint to get.

If you have a remanet of this carpet you can have a carpet person cut it out and sew in the new piece.
Nail polish remover and rags. Use the remover on the stain and blot with a clesn rag. The rag with absorb the stain.
