Hi Georgia, I researched your question a bit and one article said it should be done every two years. However, it seems it would also depend on the usage it gets. Every few years as needed related to your seasonal exposure and use with proper applications. Ours in the mid Atlantic lasted 2-3 years with a nice glossy shine.

We do ours every 3 years (in Texas) and it stays nice and shiny. Rough climates with heavy winter weather will need to be done every 2 years
